For those of you, who have been following me for some time, you may have noticed a change in my web address and name: M. Mills. I’ve been doing some work updating my blog, going about new ways to put information into the world that is interesting, fun and worthwhile reading. And to be honest with you all, it’s been both exciting and scary!
As I tried to figure out what my mind was trying to tell me, one thing became clear: my original name, which I love and would not change officially for the world, just didn’t seem quite right for the English-speaking world I’m surrounding myself with. So, I decided to change it and go for M. Mills. It has a bit of a professional ring to it, don’t you guys think? Either that… Or well… it sounds like I’m the miller’s daughter, which if I turn out like Cora from Once Upon A Time, I’m quite alright with (except for the whole “no-heart thing”).
Having this new name finally made me able to create a Facebook page. Yes, it enabled me. For some reason, creating a Facebook page with the same name as my profile page just seemed too much. It felt so feigned. It was as if I was asking them to “Like” my persona, instead of what I was writing and posting.
The biggest step of all for me was YouTube. I hadn’t been planning to post a video so soon. I had been thinking about it. The idea was running circles in my head, but it was always this “idea”, this “something, maybe, possibly for the future”. And I’m going to be honest with you guys. I’m scared about it. Excited as well! Definitely! But scared too. Because if I learnt anything about the internet it’s that it is a rough world and people can be really, really mean (I bet ya, you know that more than anything as well). So, it’s a scary thing for me to do, but I’m not going to hide and let myself be too scared. I’m just going to take the plunge and hope I land safely. And if I don’t, I’ll just sing “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!” Kelly Clarkson style. Do not worry I won’t make a video of THAT!
Love you, guys!
